Abstract
The computer-aided time domain method, based on the approach of the spatial pulse response, is a proposal for the determination of the acoustic fields radiated by means of the transducer arrays. The computer acts as the “generator” of the pulse response and thus, it does not require any analytical solutions prior to the computations. The far and the near field can be studied both for transient or stationary phenomena. The possibilities of the method are illustrated by examples of computations for focused and non-focused piston, and for the beam-steered amplitude-weighted multielement sonar transducer
