  • Abstract
Summary form only given. Fiber-based supercontinuum (SC) has many applications such as spectroscopy, optical communications, and optical sensing, and others. Previous experiment using 120 fs pulses and a high-nonlinearity dispersion shifted fiber reported SC over 420 nm and other experiment using 650 fs pulses and a dispersion-flattened and decreasing fiber reported 280 nm SC. Both SC sources used an Er-doped fiber laser to launch into the dispersion shifted fibers. Although good results were achieved from the previous experiments, very few researches were reported on high-power CW SC sources. In this paper, we demonstrate a 100 nm bandwidth SC source using ordinary singlemode fiber and CW Brillouin/Raman fiber laser (BRFL).
