Abstract :
In an effort to improve the technological literacy of nonscience, nonengineering students, a course syllabus centered on the development of the electric power industry in the US was developed. The plan was subject through a series of topics treated in as quantitative a fashion as was necessary for the students to appreciate the engineering involved. It was also planned to use as many local examples as possible and to include field trips whenever feasible. Student reaction was found to be excellent
