Abstract :
A segmentation method for localizing and identifying principal homogeneous regions is proposed. This method is based on cooperation between edges and regions. In order to select the relevant edge points, a criterion based on a dynamic threshold is defined. The method was tested on SPOT satellite images, and the efficiency of the method was demonstrated on several images. It made it possible to precisely localize regions of textured images
