Abstract :
Based on the theoretical analysis of the feasibility to use the Vanadium sludge of converter to make vanadium-recovery coolant, ingredient of a cold-pellet suitable for vanadium recovery process has been developed. Industrial production and practice indicates that the cold-pellet for vanadium recovery could replace pig iron partly, the consumption for pig iron reduces from 14.7 kg/ton to 5.1 kg/ton of hot metal, cost for vanadium recovery decreases by 3.12Y/ton of hot metal. In addition, the quality of semi-steel and vanadium slag after vanadium recovery is stabilized. For the semi-steel, proportion of carbon content more than 3.4% increases from 98.1% to 98.5%, temperature more than 1320°C rises from 97.5% to 98.0%, proportion of vanadium in the semi-steel less than 0.05% goes up from 79.9% to 85.9%. For the grade of the vanadium slag, proportion of the V2O5 more than 15% increases form 93.5% to 97.4%. The obtained results has offered more ways to make good use of vanadium recovery converter sludge and recycling utilization in PISCO (Panzhihua Iron & Steel Co.).
