Abstract
Development of amorphous iron based electric motors in industrial and military applications becomes the research focus, helping to solve global warming and energy-saving problems. Some amorphous iron based electric motors have been applied to electric/hybrid electric vehicle, light towers, military applications and so on. All of these applications are successful because of smaller space, high efficiency and high torque density achievable in amorphous iron based electric motors. Improvements in amorphous metal cores processing and device fabrication technology will continue to take place, which will further increase the application of amorphous iron based electric motors. Some fundamental problems associated with the fabrication are mentioned.
