Abstract
The challenge in today´s manufacturing organization is to assure continuous innovation on their products and processes. Adding value to the customers in their supply chain operations is one of these opportunities. In this sense, this paper aims to develop a performance evaluation model for the supply chain of a company from the refrigeration equipment sector. This model should support the Operations Vice-President, the decision-maker, in the improvement of the performance of the business units located in four countries over the world. To this end, the study used a qualitative-quantitative approach that was implemented in an exploratory case study. Bibliographic research was used to build the theoretical framework and the adopted intervention instrument was the Multicriteria Decision Aid Methodology - Constructivist (MCDA-C). The methodology made it possible to build knowledge in the decision-maker about the consequences of his decisions on the criteria that he deemed critical to the success of the business. One of the results of the study was the identification of these criteria, their organization, ordinal and cardinal measurement and integration. Besides that, it can be highlighted the current situation diagnosis and the evaluation of improvement initiatives such as Lean Thinking and Advanced Planning Systems. The main contributions made by the article reside in the proposal of solutions for fulfilling gaps identified within the supply chain performance evaluation area and in the application of the MCDA-C to a real case. In this last activity, the decision-maker was able to build the necessary knowledge to decide on which improvement actions invest his available resources. Also, he could start to count with a tool for managing his team performance towards the accomplishment of the business goals.
