Abstract :
Summary form only given. PMD compensation techniques have been proposed to improve transmission performance. Most of the PMD compensation techniques require in-line monitoring of relevant PMD parameters. Typically, an electronic feedback circuit is necessary to control the compensation mechanism optically or electronically. We propose a simple PMD mitigation method by using an optical reshaping technique. No feedback circuit is needed for this operation.
