  • Abstract
    Loading a certain kind of the distributed loss technique to stabilize the linear stage of a gyrotron traveling-wave tube (gyro-TWT) forces a spurious mode to be confined in the nonlinear stage. This paper reports using a sharp down-tapered magnetic profile to further strengthen the unloaded nonlinear stage stability and to further enhance the system performance.
