Abstract :
We investigate the use of a thin surface layer of graphene or graphite on a dielectric substrate as a slow-wave structure for RF amplification at terahertz frequencies. The dispersion characteristic, losses and the spatial growth rate are computed for interaction with a planar electron beam.
