Abstract :
Gain enhancement of antennas loaded by an infinite or a finite dielectric layer have been studied analytically and experimentally. The planar array antenna for DBS, whose each element antenna consists of a microstrip patch loaded by the finite dielectric with low permittivity, was already reported but it had a little radiation loss from the feeding microstrip lines. This paper describes the experimental results for the input and the radiation characteristics of a triplate-type patch antenna loaded by a finite dielectric.<>
