Abstract :
Although wide area wireless network capacity is growing significantly, the consumer demand for popular multimedia content delivered to mobile devices over these networks is growing even faster. An attractive alternative is to deliver multimedia content via broadcast, thereby economizing on the usage of network capacity. We describe best practice techniques for using forward error correction and interleaving the data to be broadcast for multimedia content, and receiver methodology for forward error correction decoding and de-interleaving received data for multimedia playback.
