Abstract
Coherently combining high gain antennas to obtain increased gain is sometimes proposed. Coherent combining produces grating lobes in the overall antenna pattern limiting combining efficiency in the signal direction. Requirements for narrow bandwidth phase matching and wider bandwidth time delay matching are presented.<>
