  • Abstract
We propose a novel digital on-channel repeater (DOCR) for T-DMB system where DOCR is equipped with multiple receive antennas. Prior works have focused on the DOCR with a single antenna so that the equalized DOCR (E-DOCR) combined with time-domain zero-forcing equalizer and feedback interference canceller is the latest structure. In this paper, the new paradigm structure is proposed by introducing multiple-input single-output (MISO) processing based on receive antenna arrays. In order not to increase the processing delay due to multiple inputs, DOCR is designed based on the parallel structure. Each MISO processing block is located in parallel for each input and will not therefore introduce delay into the main signal path. To exploit the array gain fully, two different techniques for MISO processing are proposed, named MRC-DOCR and MMSE-DOCR: i) post-FFT based maximal ratio combining (MRC) method and ii) pre-FFT based minimum mean square error (MMSE) method.
