Abstract
A rigorous full-wave analysis is used to determine the impedance behaviour and other related characteristics of several varactor diode loaded microstrip circular patches. The results presented illustrate the change in performance when different substrates are incorporated. From these results, valuable insight into the general performance trends of a microstrip patch loaded with a varactor diode can be established.<>
