Abstract
An adaptive correlation receiver has been proposed for direct sequence spread spectrum receivers. This receiver integrates the function of data detection with narrowband interference suppression and multipath mitigation. While previous work describes the operation of the adaptive correlator and presents analytical and simulated performance results, the authors present an implementation of the receiver using acoustic charge transport (ACT) devices. The ACT device is a programmable transversal filter (PTF) and is used as a correlator whose taps can be adapted to optimize detection performance. The authors provide bit error rate performance data for channels consisting of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN), AGWN with a tone jammer and AWGN with multipath
