Abstract :
Traditional pool heating systems have been designed to keep the temperature water constant or within a range throughout the day without a proper knowledge of when should the heating process be started and for how long. This may not be the most efficient heating method and the cost of operation may be quite high. It is not necessary to maintain the water temperature above the minimum allowable temperature outside the operation time. This paper attempts to select a pool heating sequence based on the usage time and other parameters, which will maintain a temperature within the desired range during operation time and minimize losses. Different scenarios are considered and the optimum one is selected so as to have the desired temperature throughout the usage time. This also gives the exact time at which the boiler must be switched on to have the desired temperature for a given set of parameters. This will help in having a more efficient system and reduce the cost of operation as well as controlling the CO2 emission.
