Abstract
The radio-frequency payload of future navigation satellite systems will require increased output power with the possibility to use TWTAs instead of the more conventional SSPAs. While offering higher efficiency and power capability, TWTA nonlinearity might affect the signal quality and the level of out-of-band emissions. A methodology is presented in order to trade-off some of the key aspects in the design of next-generation navigation satellite payloads.
