Abstract :
Summary form only given.Continuous wave (cw) optical parametric oscillators (OPOs) are well suited to high-resolution spectroscopy applications. We report extended spectral tuning in PPLN-based periodically poled LiNbO/sub 3/ singly resonant oscillators (SROs). The devices described exhibit coarse wavelength tuning from 2.7 to 5.3 /spl mu/m and smooth single-frequency scanning ranges of over 10 GHz. The latter is accomplished by a novel dual-cavity configuration in which mode-hopping is suppressed. We studied two pump enhanced-SRO cavity designs.
