Abstract
This paper presents a lighting system of two-stage fluorescent lamp electronic ballast. The two-stage electronic ballast is composed of a boost pre-regulator to achieve a high power factor and a full bridge resonant inverter to drive the fluorescent lamp. Average current model control is employed in the power factor correction. Four different resonant tanks are analyzed as the driving circuit. The analysis is performed using a physics-based fluorescent lamp model which makes simulation closer to real case. The harmonic components injected into the power mains and produced by each driving circuit are compared in detail.
