Abstract
A new integrated design environment for implementing DSP applications onto multiprocessor systems is presented. The environment is based on a structured methodology, and has distinct features such as the use of a commercially available CAE front-end for design capture and verification, independence of the multiprocessor hardware platform and interconnection topology, suitability for multiprocessor implementation of complex DSP applications and provision of a post-implementation performance analyser for enhancing system efficiency and throughput. The design environment, its distinct features and main functional blocks are presented and discussed as are typical experimental results
