Abstract
The objective of this paper is to introduce a methodology for compiling network contingency plans which can be used by system operations staff. The paper highlights interconnecting limitations, considerations and assumptions which system operations staff take into account when compiling a contingency plan. A case study is discussed to illustrate the effectiveness of the contingency planning methodology when implemented correctly.
