Abstract :
A new approach is proposed for computer simulation of radiation losses in photonic crystal fibers with multilayer Bragg reflecting cladding based on exact finite-difference method for Maxwell equations in cylindrical coordinates. Effectiveness of the approach is illustrated by leaky modes calculations in air and water filled hollow core fibers.
