  • Abstract
This paper discusses the effect on diver training and limiting factors imposed on U.S. divers due to the adaption of the North Sea regulations by many other countries worldwide. The high cost and relative risk of conducting open water bell lock-out training in compliance with the standards is based on several years experience with discussed IUC Patented Bell Diving Simulator developed utilizing examples set forth by NASA in their Astronaut training programs. Our design permits many more dives under actual physiological conditions, at a lower cost, than is presently possible using conventional training techniques. Graduates of this Hybrid training program have demonstrated exceptional ability and insight. This Hybrid Commercial Bell diver training technique represents the most important improvement in training terminal objectives since the North Sea standards were developed.
