Abstract
With the subscription of Kyoto Protocol and mind improvement of the environment protection, people is more and more worrying about SF6 gas applications, and its application restriction will definitely becomes the developing tendency in electrical industry. In order to avoid use of SF6 in 40.5kV C-GIS(Cubicle-Gas Insulated Switchgear), proposed a design method for gas gap and interface insulation improvement to replace SF6 by low-pressure N2 as the insulation gas on basis of less or non SF6 experiments in the current medium voltage C-GIS. Developed a 40.5kV-1250A 3 phase in one tank C-GIS prototype filling low pressure N2, which has the same advantages of less space occupation as SF6 C-GIS, and validates the feasibility of this developing concept.
