Abstract
We study the application of a new digital carrier tracking loop, called the AF CR loop (angular form carrier recovery loop), in digital cellular radio with π/4-DQPSK modulation. The performance evaluation was accomplished under fading and AWGN environments by computer simulation. A performance comparison was made between the AF CR loop and the digital N-phase I-Q loop in terms of the S-curve (phase detector output), acquisition characteristic and the RMS jitter characteristic
