Abstract :
This paper describes the problems of numerical implementations of the IPFE algorithm for partitioning high order filters into parallel interconnected subfilters. To address these problems, a modification to the original IPFE algorithm is proposed. Although the new algorithm was developed to give improved reliability over the original algorithm, initial results indicate that due to the ill-conditioning of a key matrix, the new algorithm is much worse
