Abstract :
We report on the searching of pairs of cerebellar Purkinje cells, which have a common climbing fiber. An importance of the problem and possible role of the results in understanding the principle of cerebellar circuitry is briefly described. Difficulties of the first steps in achieving the goals are summarized and the strategy of future experiments is enlightened. Since the publishing of the work of David Marr (1969) on the cerebellar cortex theory this item remains to be one of the most controversial points in brain understanding discussions. Barkowski (1978) proposed an experiment, which is like to give the decisive arguments on whether Marr´s theory is true or wrong. We describe in details the proposed experiment and discuss the problems encountered.
