Abstract :
This research aims to analyze the cross-strait co-opetitive strategy between Taiwan and China wafer-based solar cell industry from the national competitiveness perspective. The Analytical Hierachy Process (AHP) approach and TOPSIS anaylsis will be utilized to collect the industry data from the cross-strait solar cell companies. The constructs of competitiveness will be evaluated in terms of factor of production, demand condition, related and supporting industry, industry competitive structure, government and change of external environment, thereby depicting the development difference of the cross-strait solar cell industry. The results reveals the criteria of international and domestic demand, international and domestic procurement, capital resource, and governmental procurement are both emphasized in the cross-strait solar cell development, and Taiwan and China solar cell middle stream companies will aim to transform toward the downstream users and upstream supplier in the future, respectively. Meanwhile, Taiwan´s companies will utilize the cost leadership strategy in comparison with the focus strategy of China´s companies. A strategic alliance model will be probably created between the cross-strait solar cell companies.
