  • Abstract
Ultrasonic technology could be a new methodology to improve the economy of seawater desalination. It is desired to probe the appropriate temperature for the evaporation in case of ultrasonic atomization. An experiment study about the temperature response to the seawater evaporation rate in different salinities is conducted. The experiment shows that ultrasonic evaporation speeds up with the temperature increasing. It could be result in resonance when the natural frequency of both ultrasonic wave and capillary wave of the seawater are the same. The resonance increased the speed and acceleration of water molecules on the surface of liquid drops. More water molecules have enough energy to overcome the surface tension, and the rate of water evaporates is increased. The experiment results suggest that the suitable temperature for ultrasonic atomization evaporation range from 50°C to 65°C.
