Abstract :
This paper discusses the formation of the Co80Pt20 film with isolated grain structure in order to achieve excellent recording performance of the granular-type perpendicular media. Results show that the uniaxial anisotropy constant Ku and saturation magnetization Ms are 1.15times102 (erg/cc) and 1100 (emu/cc), respectively. The coercivity Hc increases significantly by increasing Ru underlayer thickness.
