Return on Experience About Implementing Knowledge Management Systems in Software Engineering: Motivations, Opportunities and Challenges

The implementation of Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) in a long and hard process that requires resources, time and budget. As a return of an experience of a project of an implementation of KMS in a software engineering organization, this paper synthetizes the motivations, the opportunities and the challenges that have to be considered in such a project. This paper focuses also on the solutions that we have adopted during our experience to address the challenges of this kind of projects.
