Abstract
The Distribution System is composed by many factors that define a great execution, when each one perform its function. These factors can be classified in two groups, the system planning and the system management. The relation between these groups is expressed by power supply continuity limits. These limits define how much the system is reliable, or in other words, if the energy injected in the system attend the demand without interruptions. In Brazil, this continuity limits are expressed by DEC and FEC (equivalents to index SAIDI and SAIFI). However, the method to define the global index of DEC e FEC, proposed by the Regulatory Agency can present some incoherencies. Considering these premises, this paper presents a proposal to adjust this index, aiming to reduce the penalties imposed by the Agency. This optimization will be made through Operation Research, more specifically by Linear Programming. Thus, the results are analyzed, and the efficiency of this method is discussed.
