Abstract
Based on reference literature, this paper use DEA Malmquist technology to establish the total factor index model considered the variable returns to scale for evaluating carbon emissions performance and analyzed the results. And then, based on the STIRPAT equation, the paper used provincial panel data to test the main factors of carbon emissions performance in China. All the results showed that: In the past development process, Technological Progress had the largest contribution to the carbon emissions performance; the per capita wealth and technology level had positive impact on carbon performance, but the population factor affected performance negatively.
