Abstract :
In recent years, regional infrastructure planning such as highway facility planning and river equipment planning has required a new approach for preference of alternatives based on appropriate needs in a region. In order to find out the preference of alternatives from multifarious requirements, the authors propose a fuzzy decision making approach which is available for putting decision makers´ subjective thoughts together. The aim of this study is to propose the method of fuzzy evaluation for a decision support system based on the inhabitants´ information. This approach is founded on the extension of the utilities of the alternatives which are obtained by combinations between each performance level and each weight of evaluated attributes. These approaches are applied to a road environment planning problem in Sapporo City and its surrounding area
