Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a design of compact rectangular microstrip patch antenna (CRMPA). The substrate height is doubled so the effective dielectric constant is changed and it shifts the resonant frequency to lower side and makes the compact antenna. The size reduction of about 31% compared to the actual area required to resonate at 5.4GHz. The bandwidth 700MHz with respect to center frequency 5.45GHz which covers wireless bands such as WLAN bands [1]. The percentage bandwidth of 12.98% and the average gain of 4.1dBi are achieved.
