Abstract
A new family of left-continuous t-norms called nilpotent minimum and its associated connectives (t-conorms and implications) are proposed to use in fuzzy logic. Attractive properties of the introduced families are explained in details. The way of deriving nilpotent minimum via a study on contrapositive symmetry of fuzzy implications is shortly recalled
