Abstract
An interactive communication environment to build communication applications for distributed systems with user extendable facilities is proposed. The communication applications are made up of modules. At processing time these modules are transparently distributed across a network of computational servers. The computational model assumes a common virtual memory space to reduce communication overhead and to simplify coding of individual modules. The environment automatically provides the bridges between the distributed physical memory spaces
