Abstract :
In a previous paper a singularity panel method based on Green´s third identity was developed and tested successfully. The application of this method could be used for the calculation of wave resistance and the motion characteristics of ships, submarines and offshore platforms. It was discovered that the application of this method to the submerged two-dimensional bodies depended strongly upon the boundaries of the region where the integral equation was used. In this paper the results of the parametric studies for each variable affecting the solution, such as water surface and sidesurface lengths, panel densities, etc., are presented. The results indicate stronger dependence on water surface length, side surface length and the number of body surface panels.
