Abstract
Dynamic effects in magnetic materials consist of both rate-dependent and rate-independent components. The rate-dependent effect consists of classical eddy currents and excess eddy currents, while the rate-independent part constitutes the static hysteresis effect. Bertotti shows, in an elegant way, the feasibility to add static hysteresis, classical eddy currents and excess eddy currents together to obtain a dynamic hysteresis model. Furthermore he presents analytical expression for the rate-dependent part. These expressions have been used together with both the Jiles-Atherton [1994] and the Preisach [2004] models representing the static hysteresis. In this report we present a dynamic hysteresis model based on Bertotti´s work and using Bergqvist´s lag model [1997] for representation of the static component. Results from simulations with this model are compared to data from measurements.
