Abstract
The performance and configuration of the different key technologies used in the proposed SDH (synchronous digital hierarchy) radio system are discussed. These technologies include a new modulation scheme called cross polarization interference canceller (XPIC), as well as fading equalization, forward error correction (FEC) and automatic transmit power control (ATPC). The authors describe how these technologies help to realize an economical, efficient and reliable SDH microwave radio system
