Abstract :
A combined power system for the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), which composed with storage batteries and ultra-capacitors, was studied in this paper. Firstly, the simulation model of the designed system was built. For both the charging and discharging, the energy management strategy based on fuzzy logic was designed, respectively. Then the simulation model of the HEV with the combined power system was founded based on the Advisor software. The simulation results indicates that the proposed energy management strategy can effectively split the powers between the storage batteries and the ultra-capacitors in the combined power system,. And a better acceleration performance and economic performance can be obtained. Also the life time of the batteries can be added.
