Abstract :
A temperature monitoring system installed in Daqing Petrochemical Company, based on a combination of RS485 serial bus and optical fiber communication has been presented in this article, in which the intelligent temperature sensor DS18B20 was used. The interface circuit between the micro control unit (MCU) and DS18B20 has been designed, which can enhance the sensor-driven ability of the MCU and improve the reliability of signal transmission. Consequently, the interface and communication protocol between the MCU and data bus is designed. It is worth mentioning that a the combination of RS485 serial bus and optical fiber communication was introduced at the first time in the application of heating net work monitoring for a petrol chemical plant, which has succeeded in reducing the system cost whereas enhancing the communication reliability.
