Abstract :
The paper investigates the influence of the channel parameters (arbitrary Rice factors and local mean powers) on the outage probability in cellular digital mobile radio. The characterisation of the radio channel is made by taking into account Rician distributed fast fading conditional on the value of the local mean power. To simplify the process of investigation the radio channel is divided into four main classes. Computational results are presented and discussed on the basis of the channel classification. Finally, based on the presented results, a quite accurate approximation method of the outage probability calculation is introduced
