Abstract :
Low cost focal plane imaging arrays are being developed for radar and radiometric applications in the millimeter-wave region. Passive radiometric imaging has been demonstrated using mechanically scanned single Schottky diode mixer waveguide systems ranging from 90-200 GHz. The use of 1D imaging arrays will significantly reduce scanning time and cost as current fabrication techniques allow multiple channels to be economically constructed. Twenty channel arrays are currently under development in the laboratory for use at 94 GHz
