Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a simple extremely wideband antenna fed by a parallel strip transmission line. Two individual radiating elements are integrated together in a way inspired by the log periodic antenna array concept. Metamaterials based antennas are used as the radiating elements. The proposed antenna is designed on FR4 substrate and successfully operates in the 0.68GHz to 120GHz frequency range covering the ultra-wideband (UWB) operating bandwidth of 3.1GHz to 10.6GHz as well as VHF band.
