Abstract :
"E-science" refers to the use advanced computing technologies to support computationally intensive and data intensive application. This paper is organized as follows. Section 2 simply describes the motivation of our work. In section 3, we present the architecture of gas network SIG based on data grid. Section 4 describes the key technologies of implementation of gas network SIG in details, especially the interoperation between data grid and GIS. SIG (spatial information grid) is an outcome of combining grid technology with spatial information science, "GridGIS" refers to distributed GIS software platform and technology system to realize spatial information sharing and collaborative service based on the Internet.
