Abstract :
Shipboard Data System III (SDS III) is being developed to replace the existing hydrographic data acquisition and processing systems. An automated selection of significant depths was developed to replace the present manual procedure in order to reduce the processing time. The accuracy of this selection process has been tested and evaluated with respect to the present manual technique.
