Abstract :
Statistics of delay and delay jitter for an end-to-end virtual connection in ATM network is studied using transient queue solution at both ATM and user levels. Firstly, the characteristics of the user source are specified by the AAL. Secondly, this set of translated characteristics is used to determine the performance of the ATM level. Finally, the effects of delay and delay jitter on the QOS is estimated from the obtained ATM level performance statistics
