Abstract :
The paper introduces the application of filtering and enhancement based upon morphological wavelet transformation in fingerprint image preprocessing. For this method, a group of flat structuring elements is formed based upon the morphological wavelet transformation and used for correcting high frequency coefficient. Thus, the filtering and enhancement of image are achieved, without changing the overall pattern of fingerprint. The experiment result also shows a good effect of this algorithm for image filtering and enhancement in fingerprint image preprocessing.
